Weekend Music Alert: Margot & the Nuclear So and So's

Getting to pick apart the brain of a musician like Richard Edwards of Margot & the Nuclear So and So's is one of the many perks of being an entertainment writer.

OK, so I didn't necessarily pick apart Edwards' brain when we chatted on the phone Wednesday afternoon. But I did learn some juicy new facts about what the band is up to.

This Saturday, Margot will be performing at the Southgate House with nearly an all-new lineup. As a fan of the members that accompanied Edwards on the albums "Animal" and "Not Animal," I'm curious to hear what the new and improved band sounds like. However, even if you've never heard of this melodic indie folk group from Indiana, you don't want to miss out on this show.

Aside from the highly anticipated Margot & the Nuclear So and So's performance, Cincinnati native bands The Seedy Seeds and Come on Caboose will be putting on the opening show.

If you've never been to the Southgate House, I highly recommend you go - it's the perfect venue for college students. The historic building is an actual house with a personal, cozy feel, several bars, and the perfect blend of national bands and local talent.

If you don't plan on making a trip to Covington this Saturday for the show, you can catch the review - and quotes from my interview with Edwards - in Monday's edition of The News Record.
